Our story
1834
French chemist Antoine Jérôme Balard first identified hypochlorous acid (HOCl)while studying the reactions of chlorine in water. This discovery marked the beginning of understanding its powerful potential as a natural disinfecting agent.
1914-1918
During World War I, HOCl was used for itsantimicrobial properties, particularly in wound treatment and infection prevention. Its effectiveness and gentle nature made it a valuable solution in critical conditions.

Researchers further developed HOCl production methods to enable its use inlarge-scale disinfection. Despite its recognized effectiveness, the difficulty of stabilizing the molecule still limited its commercial use.
2010
Advances in electrochemical technology finally made it possible to produce reliable HOCl solutions. This innovation opened the door to broader adoption in the agriculture, food, industrial, and healthcare sectors, offering a credible alternative to traditional chemical disinfectants.
2020
With the COVID-19 pandemic, HOCl-based solutions gained popularity for their effectiveness and safety profile. Several products received official approvals, notably fromHealth Canada, confirming their disinfection performance.
